Do you remember good old days when games just throw you into the dark dungeons that you had to map out the world and find your way out of? Yes, I know those were not completely the good days, but at-least there is something in the games that entrust you to figure out the map and find your way in the world.
GPS navigation makes sense in different games like Grand Theft Auto, well because GPS is a thing in today’s world. But having giant arrows on the ground or on your head in different games such as Bioshock Infinite is really immersion-breaking and little arrogant. Some guidance in a game is fine but spilling which course to take is clumsy.
Sure developers want us to be on a specific and clear path so that we can easily progress in a story but we should not be enormously aware that they are doing it!
