New Best Games of E3 2016
E3 2016 hit hard with new game trailers, demos, new video game announcements and important information about games that are already in development. Today in New Best Games of E3 2016, FunkyVideoGames bringing you the 10 amazing games of E3 2016. A quick disclaimer: Battlefield 1, Gears of War 4, Dishonored 2, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Forza Horizon 3,, Detroit and Watch Dogs 2 will not be included in this list.
These above games are announced prior to E3 and this is specifically about video games that we did not know about. Without further ado let’s get started with number 10 game in the list of New Best Games of E3 2016:
10. State of Decay 2:
State of Decay 2, the open world post apocalyptic survival RPG is back and the co founder of Undead Labs Jeff Strain said that it’s gonna be bigger, better, bolder and smoother. Smoother probably being the adjective I’m most excited about here.
What particularly more exciting about this game State of Decay 2 is that it supports drop in Co-Op play which is something, I think is really great idea for State of Decay. Now it doesn’t mean this game not going to be a great single player experience but it really look like a big upgrade to the original game and Jeff Strain adds that the dynamic game system for character progression, base building, leadership promotion and consequence driven story telling are going to result in dramatic experience that test your wills to survive.

9. Days Gone:
Days Gone is an open world action-adventure game that distinguishes itself from other pretty devastating global zombie pandemic games. Firstly by setting itself in wilderness which is frankly where you will probably end up if society shutdown.
Secondly, because Days Gone has characters that are focused on a much more emotional center. But on top of that, I don’t know if you saw the gameplay of the Days Gone, I do not think I ever see a game where they treat hordes of zombies literally like a wave. It’s overwhelming and absolute best way to do a zombie game. I cannot wait to play this game.

8. Steep:
Steep is an open world alpine sports game which may be sound ridiculous or silly or weird, I understand! But after you watch some gameplay of it, you get it. It combines the best parts of a lot of best games out there such as snowboarding, skiing games, wing suits and paragliding.
Steep has an open world exploration element and other lot of interesting ideas like ability to challenge friends to tough jumps you have found and executed. The game looks to really fill the void left by a total lack of extreme sports games. I think a lot of people who are not even into that type of game are going to be very interested in this because it looks to explore a concept on such a different level than ever before but still maintain a really great take on the various styles of gameplay.

7. Dead Rising 4:
Dead Rising 4 seems to make some good steps back to the more ridiculous original Dead Rising as well as also building on all foundations to make it much bigger. The game returns to the Colorado town where we will be spending 65% if our time in the mall 35% outside the mall.
The mall is bigger and has larger themed areas and sewer sub level as well as simply being a mall which a lot of people want Dead Rising to do. The game will be out on Christmas, so essentially it’s a die hard of zombie games. Dead Rising 4 got new mechanics such as exoskeletons that kind a world like a power armor and the whole thing just looks like a massive return to form Dead Rising.

6. Spider-Man:
Existing in its own universe not in any pre-existing spider-man universe including Marvel cinematic one which Sony and Marvel are collaborating on. Insomniac Games the developers of Rachet and Clank and more importantly to this title Sunset Orverdrive which if you can’t see why that would be prime somebody to make a Spider-Man game, the I do not know what to say to you?
There hasn’t been a Spider-Man game in a long time but in 2004, Spider-Man 2 pretty much lays a great baseline for what to build on for this game and it looks like they are just doing that. The fact that it looks so much like that Spider-Man game makes me really excised too because that game was so fun. Just to say flat out, I’m really excited to just to have a New Spider-Man game.

5. Prey:
Prey which is not Prey 2, which would have been the sequel to the 2006 version of Prey. This is a re-imagining and it really looks good. They took a really interesting approach on the trailer, giving us kind a Groundhog Day feel, well also showing problems slowly building.
The original game is about being abducted by aliens and attempting to escape all while the ship you are abducted on gradually adsorbing the world around it. It seems like that very well could be the plant and Groundhog Day situation could be a kind of appeasement for the mind of protagonist while they are being absorbed. What we do know is that it looks extremely original despite being a reboot and that’s always good.

4. Quake Champions:
Quake Champions is kind of an Overwatch of Bethesda’s lineup. Quake Champions looks pretty great. Tim Willits id Software described it as slightly e-sport designed with different classes that they’ve integrated and they are also working on a series of Quake leagues and events. What’s great about that is Tim Willits is the co-designer of the original Quake, so you know that this will handled reverently and properly.

3. Resident Evil 7:
It looks like with 3. Resident Evil 7, Capcom kind a figured something out, first 3. Resident Evil 7 has become extremely over blown. Secondly, Silent Hill / P.T. being cancelled and then now even Allison Road the spiritual continuation of that idea being cancelled, there is a void.
Capcom didn’t even bother saying any words because they released a demo that will not appear in the full complete game much like P.T and Silent Hill’s original teaser and it also plays so much like that, it’s almost scary. Well the similarities are almost scary the demo is scary, frankly I haven’t been more interested in Resident Evil since the time between Resident Evil 1 and 2, In other words get hyped if they don’t mess it up.

2. Death Stranding:
Death Stranding is a Hideo Kojima game, we have no idea what kind of game it is. It’s reveal trailer asked more questions than it answered. I guessed it may be a first person immersive game because Hideo Kojima kind of stoke that fire with P.T.
Death Stranding stars Norman Reedus, what we have seen in the reveal trailer is lot of dead sea life, Norman Reedus naked and handcuffed with umbilical cord going to a baby that disappears and then he has some dog tags on with equations on them referencing quantum mechanics.
So what people have gathered from this is that Death Stranding is going to be a sci-fi game that has something to do with environment on account of all the oil and dead sea life. I would say given the Kojima tends to care a lot about issues and world when he is creating his bizarre games that we all love. I love Death Stranding reveal trailer but I want more..

1. God of War:
This latest God of War game, it’s not a reboot but a continuation of the main story that we have experience in the previous God of War games. The big difference is that Kratos is a dad now, he’s got a beard indicating some age. He is cold but also a little bit more patient, his son shot him with an arrow and he didn’t like flip out or anything and he just moved on.
His son is going to stay with him for the vast majority of the game and a lot of it about him kind a regaining his humanity. what’s interesting is that it appears to be a similar style of play but it setting something much bigger. They are saying there is a massive plan behind it and it extends beyond this game, so I mean, if it follows this much more layered approach, I’m excited because I love the God of War gameplay. But I like the moving forward and going deeper thing more.
With age comes experience, and the God of War series has got some age on it, so let’s bring the experience.
